DESIREE BLAKE

You've met the protagonist of "Minor Problem," 10-year-old Tony Gregory, of "Minor Problem." And you've met the deuteragonist, the supporting main character, 9-year-old Carl Gregory. Now, prepare to meet one of the tritagonists, a vital character supporting the two main characters. Her name is Desireè Blake, and she is almost ten years old. She has been Tony's best friend since preschool. Her father also owns Blake's General Store, located towards the end of Baytona.

As a beautiful day ends in the summer of 2001 in the small town of Baytona, Newfoundland, Desireè and her friends hear a loud crash from her best friend Tony's house. After investigating, they find the house trashed and Tony's parents missing. The kids then head to his cousin Carl's house, where they walk in on his parents with the kidnappers. It is up to Desireè and her other friends to help Tony and Carl escape the three bumbling villains and save their parents.

Read "Minor Problem" and find out!

When we asked author Joshua Emberley-Penney about creating the character of Desireè, he had this to

say:

"Growing up, Meghan was one of my best and favorite friends. I still remember when she would come down to the garden and play with us, just as Desireè does in the story. Her character wasn't difficult to create because Meghan has been in my life since I was four years old, and using inspiration from her to create a character made me miss her so much more. She is a working mom and one of my busiest friends, but I do hope she gets a chance to read someday, and I hope I do her proud. She will always have a special place in my heart."

When asked if she was okay with having a character inspired by her, Meghan Lewis laughed and said, "Yeah, it's fine. I mean, as long as there's nothing too personal or anything." Joshua knew Meghan would not object. Full of ideas for movies and being friends for many, many years, Joshua has acted alongside Meghan in as many as ten movies in his brain.

Well, there you have it, folks.

Keep an eye out for "Minor Problem."
