GLENNIS MACLOLSON

As a child, Glennis was placed in several beauty pageants. This resulted in her extreme vanity despite being a chubby woman. She usually wears a skin-tight pink shirt with tight blue jeans.

Glennis's voice is a unique aspect of her character. It's high and squeaky when excited, almost like she's singing opera. When angry, it's deep and intimidating. And when flirting, it's playful and teasing, reflecting her multifaceted personality.

Glennis met her husband back when she was seventeen. They became a couple of con artists, traveling through America, scamming unsuspecting victims. When she was twenty, Glennis gave birth to a son, Trench. Despite their tumultuous past, Glennis is fiercely protective and supportive of her son, often involving him in her schemes. Five years later, her husband abandoned them. Glennis then moved her son to Canada, and they traveled from province to province, scamming people for survival.

In the summer of 2001, Glennis's son has a new job. He and his girlfriend, Elise, must kidnap two families, Tony and Carl, as part of a criminal scheme. Always eager for a cut, Glennis must tag along on the adventure. But the boys aren't going to be so easy to capture, as they manage to escape their kidnappers.

Name: Glennis Pristina Lois MacLolson
Birthday: August 8th, 1950 (51 Years Old)
Parents: Ross & Deborah MacLolson
State: New Jersey
Height: 5'7 ft.
Weight: 250 lbs.
Eye Color: Blue
Hair: Big, puffy, blonde
Favorite Color: Pink
Hobbies:
Anything to do with her son, Trench, that annoys his girlfriend, 'Alice.'
Ambition:
Glennis's ambition is palpable. She yearns to be rich, pampered, and best friends with Celine Dion, a desire that drives her actions and decisions.

What are their strengths?
Glennis has no good qualities. She's selfish, arrogant, and vain as she looks down on anyone she feels is beneath her.

What are their weaknesses?
Glennis loves being the center of attention. Although scheming and wicked, she makes an amusing villain because she's dramatic, slow, and unintelligent. She's also quite childish and loses her temper very quickly. Whenever things don't go her way, her rage, combined with her clumsiness, usually humiliates her.

What do they need/want?
Glennis's worst fear is being completely broke, with no money and no men. She is convinced she deserves a better life than she has received. Her main goal is to help her son commit his crime and get paid.

What motivates them?
Her motivation is her unhealthy obsession with money.

What's their central conflict?
Her central conflict (besides the two boys) is with her daughter-in-law, Elise. They can't stand each other. Glennis feels her son deserves a much better woman than Elise, while Elise feels Glennis has the tiniest brain on the planet. Glennis constantly calls Elise "Alice" as she doesn't pronounce it correctly, which always annoys Elise.

INTERVIEW WITH THE AUTHOR

So, tell us, where did Glennis come from?
Believe it or not, it all started with a name, literally. For some reason, my cousin Dillon and I always found that name funny. So, when he told me he wanted my first book as his Christmas present, I knew it would have to be "Minor Problem." I also knew that I needed to have a villain named Glennis. But she has to be more than a name. I had some fantastic inspiration while writing the character of Elise, and it worked perfectly. There were plenty more villains from my and Dillon's childhood, and I already knew some of the hilarious qualities I wanted Glennis to have.

And what batch of villains did you use for inspiration this time?

1) Aunt Pristine Figg - "Tom and Jerry: The Movie."
2) Queen Gnorga – "A Troll in Central Park."
3) Mrs. Harriet Olsen - "Little House on the Prairie."
4) Lois Wilkerson - "Malcolm in the Middle."
5) Jeremy's Mother - "Chip n Dale: Rescue Rangers."

Dillon and I spent many nights laughing at these villains, just as we did with those who inspired Elise. They were the perfect inspiration for Glennis's personality. She's deceitful and manipulative like Aunt Figg, vain and dramatic like Queen Gnorga, nosey and arrogant like Mrs. Olsen, annoying and whiny like Jeremy's mother, and Lois's temper. Even though Lois isn't a villain, her behavior is downright hilarious. I had to use her wackiness as inspiration for Glennis and her son. So, Glennis received her name from her inspiration, as Elise did. Her middle name came from Pristine Figg and Malcom's mother, Lois. Her last name is MacLolson, a combination of the villain MacLeach (Rescuers Down Under), Cloris Leachman (Queen Gnorga), and Katharine MacGregor (Mrs. Olsen). I pay homage to these incredible actors who gave us hilarious characters.

As for Glennis' birthday, I looked at the release dates of the inspiration.
Tom and Jerry: The Movie – July 30th, 1993
A Troll in Central Park – October 7th, 1994
Little House on the Prairie– September 11th, 1974
"Tom and Jerry" came out in July, and "Little House on the Prairie" started in September, so we'll give her an August birthday. "A Troll in Central Park" came out on the 7th. "Malcolm in the Middle" started on the 9th, so Glennis was born on the 8th. By the way, shout out to my cousin, Michaela, because August 8th is her birthday. Since Dev Ross was the voice of Jeremy's mother, I decided that Glennis's parents would be Ross and Deb. And then I tried to imagine what kind of background a person like Glennis would have.

And how did you create her appearance?
And as you saw with Elise, I knew my friend Danielle would be an excellent choice to bring Glennis to life as she did Elise. I knew Danielle had a talent for drawing, unlike me. So, I asked her for help since she knew about the book. She decided to give it a shot, going by my descriptions. It's incredible when someone can produce a picture of a character you created in your mind. It makes the whole process of creating your own story so much more exciting.

Unfortunately, Danielle Decker was unavailable for comment.

After numerous requests for an audiobook, Joshua Emberley-Penney decided to try his best to make it a reality for fans of his writing. After putting together an adult cast within twenty-four hours, Joshua asked longtime friend Victoria Pope to voice the role of Glennis. He knew that Victoria's creativity and humor would bring Glennis to a laughing life.
When asked about the role, Victoria said, "Of course, I will do anything I can to help!"

Well, there you have it! You've met the two bickering villains. Return to the home page for more blogs about their leader and the primary five children of the neighborhood.
